Sylke V. Schnepf is a Senior Policy Advisor in the Unit ‘Monitoring, Indicators & Impact Evaluation’ of the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), Ispra, Italy and a Research Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Labour IZA (Bonn, Germany). Previously, she worked as a consultant for the UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre, Florence, Italy and as an Associate Professor in Social Statistics at the University of Southampton, UK.
Sylke’s main research interests regard patterns of cross-national educational inequalities, unequal uptake of higher education student mobility and fairness aspects of climate change policies. Methodologically, she provides advice on survey design and counterfactual impact evaluation of education policies. She has published in numerous high-ranked peer-reviewed journals and is currently co-editing a book examining how education monitoring impacts on policy design in Europe.
